Inventory availability
As some of you may have noticed, this season has been trying in terms of keeping the store fully stocked with inventory. The following is an email we received from one of our suppliers explaining the reasoning within the industry. This is NOT just a problem we are having but is industry wide . . . .
"In the wake of the economic downturn in the U.S. and more recently in Europe, combined with much tighter restrictions on lending over the last two years, all businesses—from the raw material supplier to the ultimate distributor—have had to lower their inventory levels. Now that demand is finally back on the upswing, we have been experiencing a number of problems in terms of supply, with delivery delays of up to six months among certain suppliers.
In light of these unusual circumstances, our entire team has been hard at work trying to remedy the situation, conducting ongoing follow-ups with our suppliers and examining all possible alternatives, including air transport.
We believe that the situation may well last until the end of the summer, at which time the supply chain is likely to stabilize. Until then, rest assured that we are genuinely committed to returning to the way things were as quickly as possible and to making this entire episode as painless as possible." Cycles Lambert - Distributor
We thank everyone for their patience and understanding this season. We are as frustrated as you are and hope things will level out soon.
